AFM News & Notes – Fourth Quarter 2020

After 7 years at AFM, Mary-Lou retired in October 2020. All of us here at AFM miss her and wish her all the best in this new phase in life!

ALEXANDRA IS STAYING BUSY!

Alexandra Armstrong and her coauthor Mary Donahue conducted three videocall sessions promoting their book “Your Next Chapter: A Woman’s Passage To A Successful Retirement”.  They were for the Cosmos Club, the Georgetown Village, and the Women’s Bar Association of Washington DC. If you would like to ask Alex and Mary to talk to one of your zoom groups, please contact Alex at aarmstrong@afmfa.com.

In addition, their book was favorably reviewed by BetterInvesting magazine in October and the authors were quoted extensively in Janet Bodnar’s column “Living in Retirement” in Kiplinger’s Personal Finance magazine.

AFM HOLIDAY HAPPY HOUR

As social distancing has been the norm for 2020, all of us at AFM got together for a virtual holiday celebration!

JOSH KAPLAN PASSED SERIES 7 & 63 EXAMS

Congratulations to Josh Kaplan for passing the Series 7 and 63 exams! The Series 7 exam measures the degree to which each candidate possesses the knowledge needed to perform the critical functions of a general securities representative, including sales of corporate securities, municipal securities, investment company securities, variable annuities, direct participation programs, options and government securities. The Series 63 is a securities exam and license entitling the holder to solicit orders for any type of security in a particular state. To obtain a Series 63, the applicant must pass an exam and possess knowledge of ethical practices and fiduciary obligations. We are so excited to support him in these achievements!
